A high-performance digital servo system realized on the platform of field-programmable logic array (FPGA), permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and encoder is proposed. The intact vector control strategy of PMSM is described with Verilog hardware description language (HDL) and implemented on one-chip FPGA in accordance with the EDA design methodology. This realizes the high density and miniaturization of the servo system. In addition, the detailed designs of basic modules such as position measurement, vector transformation, PI regulator, SVPWM module are presented. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme has excellent dynamic and steady-state performance.
