This paper presents an analytical solution procedure based on the Magnetic Circuit (MC) model to predict the steady state performance of the interior magnet synchronous motors. The analysis includes the motor operation at both no-load and loaded operating conditions. Unlike the no-load operation, the MC model is dependent to the rotor position at the loaded condition, and therefore multiple loaded MC models are derived. To verify the accuracy of the model, the motor performance characteristics such as air-gap flux density, back-EMF and winding inductance are calculated and compared with the Finite Element (FE) results.
