We consider a wireless energy harvesting (EH) relay network, in which the relay harvests energy from the source node. Considering a power splitting (PS) protocol, performance measures such as average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), outage probability and throughput are analyzed. Subsequently, optimal PS ratios are analytically derived in order to maximize the instantaneous SNR and throughput. All theoretical results are validated by numerical simulations.
