The goal of our project is to design a system which controls the traffic signal based on vehicle density and sound sensing. In daily routine we come across many control signals with fixed time and that causes pedestrians to wait for the traffic signal even though there is no traffic on the other sides and traffic light control time extend on the non-peak hours. It may cause high fuel consumption, long time duration for people and emergency vehicle control is difficult. In order to reduce these problems, we are using density sensor for measuring density of the vehicles and sound sensors to detect the sound signals of such vehicles. All these sensors are interfaced to the PIC micro controller to collect the data and provide priority to the congested lane.
