The vibration of the whole weapon affects the aim of the barrel and therefore reduces the probability of hitting the target. These vibrations are directly affected by the road surface profile as the vehicle moves across the terrain. This paper investigates barrel vibration using a system of differential equations that includes the effect of chassis motion as well as the effect of actuators on barrel vibration in azimuth and elevation. The simulation results from Matlab-Simulink software show that the horizontal and vertical barrel vibration is not only affected by the vehicle chassis vibration, but also by the electric motor control process. This study allows to assess the conditions for the expected stabilization of the barrel angular position during target tracking.
