In this work, we study two problems associated with the theory of spatial optical solitons in PCFs. First, we analyze the properties and stability of two-component vector solitons excited in a nonlinear PCF and composed of two modes of different polarizations. Second, we consider a twin-core PCF with two nonlinear weakly coupled cores and analyze all-optical spatial switching of light between the two cores, for varying input intensity.
