Induction motors are extensively utilized in an industry and it is essential to enhance control techniques for induction motors to improve their efficiency. This article aims to enhance the induction motor drives efficiency by developing sliding mode controllers that are not based on traditional PI controllers. In the proposed concept capability to control the rotor speed and provide feedback loop control, the rotor speed is anticipated through a sliding mode observer. Furthermore, Lyapunov’s criteria prove the robustness of control and observer methods. The tests are conducted at various speed adjustments on an induction motor drive. These test findings demonstrate the dynamic characteristics of a sensor that controls the mode of the induction motor drive.
