We demonstrate a novel bandpass optical fibre filter capable of changing its amplitude transmission over a fixed wavelength spectrum while blocking all other wavelengths. We previously produced a related device that modulated (>20 dB) the intensity of a single channel while passing all other channels. This bandpass filter uses long-period gratings to couple light from the fiber core into the fiber cladding and back.
