This paper proposes the full-bridge Z-source inverter (ZSI). The proposed inverter helps to extend applications of ZSI into some occasions that electrical isolation is demanded. The unique structure provides a new controlled variable to operate in wide input voltage. Operating principals and advantages of the proposed inverter are given in details. A prototype is established in the lab, experimental results verify the correctness of analysis.
