Using geometry asymmetry, ac electroosmosis (AC EO) experiments are presented on a traveling wave electroosmosis (TW EO) device. To compare AC EO and TWEO, 1.5mS/m KCl electrolysis is selected as pumping solution. AC EO and TW EO flow velocities versus horizontal height were measured, which showed that the flow was generated at the electrodes. The AC EO and TW EO flow velocities depending on voltage and frequency are measured and compared. At low voltage, the linear mathematics models of AC EO and TW EO were presented and simulated. The experimental and simulation results show TW EO is more efficient and the streamlines are smoother than AC EO.
