INRETS has developed an image sensor that offers the advantage to use simple information based on the response analysis of an added information into the traffic scene. This new algorithm based on a co-operative structure allows us to deduce measures such as the volume (number of vehicles) and occupancy. The speed is computed by another method which uses the vehicles trajectories. The aim of this paper is to describe the detection method and the obtained results after our experiments under real traffic and different weather conditions.
