In this paper we describe two new measuring methods of contact forces, derailment coefficient, and friction coefficient between wheel and rail. The new method from on-board side needs no special wheelset and can realize constant monitoring of derailment coefficient. The new method from track side can measure the change of contact forces continuously along the rail direction. The comparisons with conventional methods are shown, based on the results of stand tests and train running tests.
