The paper covers the Swedish situation on road tolling for both private cars and heavy goods vehicles. The paper includes the Swedish views on the introduction of charges to cover infrastructure investments, the plans for kilometer-based heavy goods vehicles charges for the whole Swedish road network, as well as the efforts done to reach Nordic interoperability. A status report on the situation regarding the Stockholm congestion charging trial due for 2005 is also included. The Swedish governmental investigation on HGV charges is presented on May 31st and its conclusions and recommendations for the future of HGV charges in Sweden is presented.
