This paper deals with the definition of an "Integrated Traffic Management" as it has been realized in the Hanover Region. In this context the word "management" is a synonym for the operational combination of the public duties of traffic guidance and all kind of traffic information provision. And the word "integrated" as a synonym for the cooperation of the public transport and the road traffic authorities. These two approaches were the main tasks in the realization of the Integrated Management System in the Hanover Region.
