Advanced mobile systems require digital signal processing to provide flexibility in routing of channels to/from the multibeam mobile coverage. The paper summarises work at Matra Marconi Space under ESA contracts leading to the development of a flight capability for such processors. In particular it describes the development of a functional demonstrator and flight technology demonstrator.
