The XRAE1 gust-insensitive unmanned aircraft first flew in December 1988 and, following a series of test flights, work was started on the larger XRAE2 gust-insensitive aircraft, and flight testing of this aircraft took place during July 1991 with very satisfactory results. The author discusses the gust-insensitive configuration, secondary aerodynamic effects, and flight path guidance. (3 pages)
