It is recalled that for a detailed propeller design, theoretical models have to be used which are now available to the designer in computer programs. A brief review of the assumptions, on which various propeller models are based, is given. A procedure in use at the NSMB, for the evaluation of the pressure distribution on the blade sections of a propeller in off-design conditions, is discussed.
