A study was performed to determine the feasibility of implementing an Integrated Motorist Information System (IMIS) in the northern Long Island Corridor of New York State. The objectives of IMIS are to demonstrate the benefits of an integrated approach to traffic management and to permit research in motorist information systems and advanced concepts in traffic flow optimization. This is the Executive Summary volume. It is a reprint of Sections 1 and 2 of the Final Report.
