The project originally was set up to compare the operating characteristics of 16-foot plastic flood relief boat with the 16-foot plywood boat from which it was molded. The plastic flood relief boats were shipped out before one could be tested, so a 16-foot plastic work boat was obtained. It has the same general underwater body lines as the flood relief boat. The main difference is that the work boat has a wider spoon-nose bow than the flood relief boat. Facts and figures for this prototype hull design are reported.
