Improvement is proposed of interstate route 66 in Fairfax County, Virginia. The proposed improvement will have an adverse environmental effect on noise pollution in some residential areas, forty-eight streets which will be severed, air pollution in some areas, the acquisition of several acres of right of way, the displacement of some picnic and recreational facilities, the displacement of 625 families and 51 businesses, and possible congestion at peak hours in vicinity of commuter parking areas.
