The use of cathode ray tubes for civil or military aircraft is discussed. The basic technology is described including multichromatic phosphors. Specific features used for aeronautical application include: high brightness, high tolerance to temperature and vibration, resistance to rapid depressurization of the aircraft, and protection against electromagnetic interference.
