An air launched air recoverable rocket (ALARR) vehicle and specific components were subjected to laboratory tests based on previous flight information obtained during the missle/payload development. The laboratory tests were performed in accordance with the ALARR missile environmental tests task plan. The mass moment of inertia of the missile/payload and specific components was determined for the three principle axes. Three environmental tests were conducted on the ALARR recovery unit and sequence timers; namely, a temperature-altitude test, a mechanical shock test, and vibration test. As a result of testing it was found that some of the ALARR sequence timers were unreliable when subjected to a variety of mechanical shock and vibration inputs. (Author)
