The proposed project is situated on State Route 101 in Clallam County, Washington. The project is being constructed to eliminate the existing curvy, narrow two-lane roadway which is only 21 feet wide and posted for a speed limit of 50 mph. The new section is designed to accommodate projected 1990 traffic and conforms to geometric standards for design speeds of 60 mph. One business, a combination grocery store and service station, would be displaced. There are no families displaced and the take involves no parks, recreational areas, wildlife and waterfowl refuges, historical sites or other items of significant environmental impact.
