A mathematical model is used to calculate the air resistance of a cylindrical body traveling in a tubular casing with various geometrical parameters. Experimental results on resistance and slot velocity distribution measurements correlate with calculations. It is concluded that a simple theoretical model adequately describes air resistance for a large region of tube obstruction.
