The booklet presents data on teenage drivers in California, comparing their accident and conviction records with those of older drivers. It also reviews recent research on risk-taking by young drivers, and discusses young driver accident countermeasures. The primary purpose of the booklet is to provide traffic safety administrators with information for making program and policy decisions; it also is meant to provide information to the insurance industry and to scholars and research in traffic safety.
