As a means of determining public opinion on specific traffic safety issues, a public opinion survey was conducted. The survey consisted of a mail survey sent to 4,500 licensed drivers. Opinions on such issues as a primary seat belt law, prohibiting cell phones while driving, more regulation of truck driver training, and changes to the current graduated driver license program were obtained.
