This ITOP describes techniques for conducting 12m (40-ft) drop tests of munitions (e.g., cartridges, projectiles, separate-loading propellants, small rockets and missiles) in their shipping configurations, and 3m (10-ft) drop tests of unpackaged ammunition employed by combat vehicles; and provides general guidance for drop tests from other heights, including simulated parachute drops using a drop tower. This ITOP does not apply to large rockets and missiles. It does cover small rockets and missiles such as antitank.
