The purpose of this report is to document the results of the work performed by the Re-entry Systems Department from June, 1961, to June, 1963, on the exact solution to the problem of the flow immediately behind a re-entry body travelling at hypersonic speeds. It was the intent of the work to develop an analytical technique for predicting the velocities, pressures, and enthalpies in the recirculation and post-neck regions of the wake. (Author)
