Two forecasts of expenditures by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in support of the Airport and Airway System are developed as part of the study on Airport and Airway Costs and User Cost Responsibility during the period FY77 through FY86. Baseline projections assume the continuation of historical relationships between expenditures and aviation activity levels. Alternative projections estimate the costs of incorporating currently planned Upgraded Third Generation Air Traffic Control enhancements. Major categories of FAA expenditures and several cost projection options are discussed. (Author)
