This report presents the results of a life-cycle-cost analysis of the Microwave Landing System ground and airborne configurations that may be implemented for the National Airspace System. The ground configurations evaluated consisted of 3 deg, 2 deg, and 1 deg beamwidth azimuth subsystems. The airborne configurations evaluated were for air carrier aircraft, high-performance general aviation aircraft, and low-performance general aviation aircraft. (Author)
