The study examines the construction and operation of a refrigerated warehouse and dedicated berth in Puerto Cortes, Honduras, and the development of support logistic services which include the transport of fruits and other cargoes by refrigerated trailers and trucks and reefer breakbulk vessels. The study also reviews the viability of truck transport of Honduras cargoes to the U.S. Mid-West and East Coast from three U.S. destination ports, Tampa, Everglades and a two-call service of Everglades and Philadelphia. Briefly reviewed by the study was the possible inclusion of a similar facility in the Port of Santo Tomas, Guatemala.
