The Ship Structure Committee CD-ROM set contains all of the SSC Reports published in its 50-year history through 1996. The CD-ROM Library begins with the original investigation into the loss of the Liberty ships in World War II and ends with SSC-391, Evaluation of Marine Structures Education in North America (PB96-167598). It includes projects on finite element analysis, fatigue and fracture analysis, structural detail design, optimum welding practices, inspection and maintenance strategies, human element interaction, and reliability-based design methods. In total, there are over 45,000 pages of research. All of the jointly sponsored Ship Structure Committee and Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers symposia proceedings, through 1993, are also included. The CD-ROM Library is searchable, and may be entered four ways: through the report title, by word search through the abstracts, by author, or by a list of keywords for the reports. The CD-ROM will be periodically updated to incorporate the latest Ship Structure Committee Reports.
