This research memorandum describes a model for simulating a scheduled VTOL or V/STOL assault. The model consists of two computer programs. Parameters considered are (1) aircraft performance under vrious atmospheric conditions and operational requirements, (2) size and composition of assault force, (3) aircraft dimensions and internal configuration, (4) assignment of personnel to aircraft type, (5) percentage of total lift assigned to each aircraft type, (6) size, composition and deck space utilization of carrier fleet, (7) timing of waves, (8) aircraft loading and unloading times and cruise speeds, and (9) estimates of two classes of attrition. The model was programmed for the CDC 1604 in the FORTRAN-63 language. It is discussed generaly and in detail. Instructions are given for preparation of input and for running the programs, samples of output are presented. (Author)
