Airport development in Boundary County, Idaho includes land acquisition, runway extension, runway resurfacing, runway marking and lighting, taxiway construction and marking, apron resurfacing, fencing, and obstruction removal. The runway extension will utilize land presently used for agricultural and timber purposes. The improvement will increase aircraft operations of aircraft types not presently using the airport, but thse changes will not significantly affect the ambient noise level. Public objections to the project fell into the categories of aircraft noise, pollution from chemical spray, and limitations on residential growth near the airport. (Author)
