A number of tasks were performed in support of Naval Air Systems Command's use of two hydraulic starters. These tasks were: (1) Assemble and test an H-1 starter with an oil lubricated clutch assembly; (2) procure two EA1430-084-2B starters and modify them to the oil lubricated clutch configuration; (3) design the hardware necessary to provide external adjustment capability for the flow sensitive compensator of the H-1 starter; (4) revise the design and procure appropriate hardware for improving the reliability of the present H-1 starter grease lubricated clutch design; (5) investigate the failure of an H-1 starter cutout switch.
