An inspection of aircraft warning pennants in current use showed that the use of a dull red colour against a variety of aircraft colour schemes limited their effectiveness and they became dirty and dilapidated quickly in service. Tests of an alternative material using a three colour striped pattern proved most satisfactory and pennants of this material are in use. It is recommended that other aircraft operators should consider providing similar type pennants. (Author)
