The descriptions and summary presented in this report are intended to provide a general understanding of the capabilities and principal features of solid propellant rocket automatic thrust terminators designed to utilize motor case expansion both to derive energy from and to sense motor ignition. The devices are intended for use during those stages of logistic cycles wherein accidental ignition could result from accident or mishandling. They are designed to minimize the damage potential of such an event by causing total destruction of the motor before full thrust can be attained.
