The first United States Microgravity Laboratory (USML-1) mission was launched aboard STS-50 on June 25, 1992. The Shuttle landed at the Kennedy Space Center on July 9, 1992, after completing thirteen successful days of microgravity science investigations and a one-day weather delay. All primary and secondary objectives were met. Scientific data was gathered to address important questions about how conditions in space affect fluid transport phenomena, combustion science, biotechnological processes, and the synthesis and properties of materials. In addition to completing the microgravity science objectives, the astronauts collected physiological data throughout the mission, preflight and post-flight, for the Extended Duration Orbiter Medical Program. Also, time correlated microgravity environment ta was collected by the Space Acceleration Measurement System and Orbital Acceleration Research Experiment.
