The proposed project contemplates the construction of a NE extension (1500 ft. x 75 ft.) to the present NE/SW runway; construction of turnaround; installation of MIRL and the acquisition of clear zone easements. This project is the second stage of a continuing program to upgrade the paved runway at Mission Field providing additional length. The present airport and the proposed site of development is located approximately seven miles northeast of Livingston, Montana. Since the airport site is located in an unpopulated area, and since there will be no change in the type of aircraft utilizing the airport, there will be no increase in noise level effect. The airport development proposed in this request will not involve the displacement and relocation of any persons residing on the land. There will be no adverse effects on any recreation areas, parks, refuges or historical sites. The proposed project will have no effect on the marine life of the area. There will be little effect on the behavioral patterns of any wildlife species, nor will it interfere with any breeding, nesting or feeding grounds. There will be no noticeable increase in air or water pollution as a result of this project. As there will be no large scale earthwork involved, there will be no adverse effect of the area's water table. The airport noise contours will be extended by 1500 ft., but this will have no effect upon the surrounding area. The paving project will be constructed using a conventional crushed aggregate base and asphalt concrete surfacing. No large scale earthwork is planned for this project. The long-term effects of this project will be to provide an airport facility which will more adequately serve the community's long-term airport needs.
