The Hypersonic Flight Experiment (HYFLEX) was conducted in February 1996 as Japan's first bypersonic flight of a lifting vehicle with the basic characteristics of a reentry vehicle. This paper describes details of the final design of the vehicle sub-systems, and in brief its flight plan and an analysis of the flight data.
