The Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC), also known as the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Office of the Associate Administrator for Research and Development, is a Federally owned and operated laboratory. TFHRC's expert staff is dedicated addressing the problems facing the highway community today. Their work is categorized into six areas; Human Factors, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Pavements, Safety, Structures, and Support Services. These six categories encompass over 100 areas of transportation expertise and utilize more than 40 laboratories and support facilities. The contacts listed under each category are a resource for the highway community and are available to discuss their ongoing and future research projects.
