The Triplex Destruct System (LCS's on each SRB and on ET) was analyzed for effectiveness for the entire ascent portion of the flight. LSC size/placements were established, LOX/LH2 vent times were predicted, SRB depressurization times were calculated, and SRB/ET/Orbiter structural breakup pattern and times were determined. Further, debris weight and aerodynamic characteristics are presented for use in future hazard analyses. (Author)
