Rigid-body slamming was experimentally investigated at the Naval Ship Research and Development Center by dropping one flat circular aluminum plate model and five cone-shaped aluminum models with small deadrise angles (up to 15 deg) from various elevated positions above a calm water surface. The report presents the test results and compares them with theory and to those for two-dimensional wedge-shaped models. (Author)
