High altitude sounding rockets are required mainly for microgravity experiments. A flight time of more than 10 minutes in microgravity is necessary for these experiments. To achieve this, the payload must reach a peak altitude of nearly 1000 km. Guidance of the rocket trajectory is performed to avoid impact outside the assigned area and to allow a quick recovery operation, which is vital for the success and safety of the missions. Broad bandwidth television video and Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) data transfers from the payload are used, in conjunction with the international telecommunications network to enable telescience operations to be performed from all over the world.
