The intent of the historic resource study to focus on steam-era railroading in the Northeastern United States while presenting only a brief history of the less-than-nationally significant Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad and its Scranton yard. An evaluation of the yard and its structures is presented in the final chapter.
