Results of cavitation inception and performance tests are presented for a series of model propellers designed using lifting-surface procedures. Open-water performance curves are shown in addition to cavitation inception and cavitation performance data obtained in the NSRDC 24-inch variable-pressure water tunnel. The propeller series included geometrical variations of blade area, thickness, skew, and section meanlines. Photographs are presented to compare cavitation on propellers with different blade areas and skew and operating at identical cavitation numbers and advance coefficients. (Author)
