The magnetometer used in the payload of the DASA Project 6.27 Blue Goose Rocket is described. The instrument, a triaxial logarithmic second harmonic (flux-gate) magnetometer, measures three orthogonal components of magnetic fields in the range from 100 to 100,000 gamma. Included herein are the theory of the measurement, a description of the sensor and electronics, and the calibration of the instrumentation before integration into the payload. The details of the integration of this instrument into the rocket and the data recorded during the test flight will appear in future reports. (Author)
