This report deals with an operational evaluation of newly developed acrylic fiber signal flags. It includes an analysis of the reports from the five participating ships. Increased visual range and durability were demonstrated for the new flags, as well as quicker drying and less tendency to soil. The flags are being recommended for adoption, although work will continue to correct some minor shortcomings. (Author)
