The present position-determining capability of a Differential OMEGA System when operating in a localized area was investigated. A system consisting of a ground monitor OMEGA receiver station and an airborne OMEGA navigation system (installed in a UH-1M helicopter) was used for the tests. Results indicate an order of magnitude improvement with differential OMEGA over the performance obtained with uncorrected OMEGA. (Author)
