The report documents the Panels inquiries and analyses during that calendar year, all aimed at promoting the cause of safety throughout NASA. Through its efforts, the ASAP developed insights into aspects of NASA operations such as technical authority, workforce, safety culture and risk management. In these and other areas, the ASAP recognized NASAs safety achievements in 2006, but the Panel also identified further, vital measures that are needed to ensure the Agencys continued commitment to the highest safety standards.
